Terms of Service

Effective September 23, 2026

Starter template — have these terms reviewed for your situation before launch.

These terms govern your use of Application Playbook (the “Service”), operated by The Application Playbook owner (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or purchasing access, you agree to them.

1. What you’re buying

A one-time payment of $29 gives the account you purchase with ongoing access to the Service’s premium content — the guide chapters, the example library, and related resources — for as long as the Service is operated. It is not a subscription.

2. Personal-use license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and read the content for your own individual, non-commercial use. You may not:

  • share your account or login credentials with others;
  • copy, redistribute, repost, resell, or publish the content (in whole or in substantial part) anywhere else, including websites, social media, forums, and shared drives;
  • submit any example writing from the library, in whole or in part, as your own work;
  • scrape, download in bulk, or use automated tools to extract the content;
  • use the content to build a competing product or service.

Brief quotations for personal notes or discussion are fine. We may suspend accounts that violate this license.

3. Educational information only — no guarantees

The Service reflects personal experience and general educational information. It is not professional, legal, or financial advice, and it does not guarantee admission, scholarships, financial aid, or any other outcome. Admissions policies and requirements change; always verify current requirements with individual colleges and official sources.

4. No affiliation

Application Playbook is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Common Application, the College Board, ACT, Inc., any athletic conference, or any college or university mentioned. Trademarks belong to their respective owners.

5. Accounts

You’re responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity on your account. You must provide an accurate email address. If you are under 13, you may not use the Service; if you are under 18, use it with a parent or guardian’s permission.

6. Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. We don’t store your card details. Refunds are described in our Refund Policy. If a payment is refunded or reversed, access purchased with it may be removed.

7. Changes to the content and the Service

We may update, reorganize, add to, or remove content to keep it accurate and useful. We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is”, and our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to the amount you paid for it. Decisions you make about applications, enrollment, and finances are your own.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States.
